The Automobile Technology Department provides students with specialized knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automobiles. The curriculum includes the study of mechanical and electrical systems, automotive engines, vehicle diagnostics, and modern automotive technologies. Students are trained to become experts in troubleshooting and maintaining various types of vehicles, equipping them with the skills necessary for the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
Students interested in the Automobile Technology program must have completed Ordinary Level (O-Level) education, with passes in Mathematics, Physics, and English. A strong interest in automotive systems and mechanical engineering is important. No prior experience in automobile technology is required, but an eagerness to learn and a passion for cars will help students succeed.
Professional experience is a key component of the program. Students undertake internships at reputable automobile repair shops, dealerships, and vehicle manufacturing plants, where they apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. The program also includes practical training sessions in RTC’s automotive workshops, allowing students to work with modern tools and vehicles. Upon graduation, students are equipped to work in the automotive industry, in vehicle maintenance, or even pursue entrepreneurial opportunities in car repair and maintenance businesses.
